Richard RaffanSeminar 2 - Woodturning Demonstrations
Presented by Richard Raffan

This is your chance to see one of the world’s best known woodworkers in action using the tools he uses day to day.  You can watch Richard as he explains exactly what goes into creating a work art on a wood-lathe.
In each demonstration Richard will talk about shaping and sharpening tools, and show you how a range of tools and chucks can be used to best advantage.  You’ll also learn about safety around the lathe, and about design, form and function.  No matter what your level of expertise, you can learn heaps watching this master woodturner in action.  Between the formal demonstrations you can meet Richard who is willing to answer your questions, demonstrate specific techniques, or sign copies of his books.

  Learn how gouges, scrapers and abrasives can be used to turn one blank into two or more finely finished bowls. Discover different techniques and options to hold the wood on the lathe
